about
Food processors are designed to make preparation faster, yet their role often ends the moment the ingredients are processed. ESSENZ began with a different question: could a food processor become part of the wider ritual of cooking — moving naturally from preparation to serving, and from an individual task to a shared moment in the kitchen?
Developed in collaboration with Braun during TU Delft’s Integrated Product Design programme, the project reimagines the Braun PurEase Food Processor around the idea of a more purposeful kitchen companion. A three-bowl, table-ready system allows food to move directly from preparation to the table, while stackable bowls, integrated accessory storage and a simplified dial interface make the product easier to live with before, during and after cooking. Together, these interventions explore how an everyday appliance can support not only efficiency, but also the enjoyment and social experience of cooking.
